Fair Theme 101

What are Fair Themes for?
  • Fair themes are frequently used to set a visual tone for a fair event. A theme creates a "look" across the fairgrounds in and around many attractions and exhibits of the fair.
  • A theme is also used to advertise and market the fair event so that guests and participants can be on the lookout for fair themed attractions, highlights, and features of the theme when they attend the fair.
Who participates in fair themes?
  • exhibitors
  • vendors
  • volunteers
  • parents & family
  • guests
  • staff

  • barns, booths and departments of the fair also decorate with the fair theme
  • many departments have a special category for fair themed exhibits and awards
  • vendors sell special fair themed merchandise, food or beverage
  • volunteers, parents, staff and guests sometimes wear fair themed gear or accessories
